Mastering

Mastering is the final stage before your CD gets sent to the manufacturing plant. Mastering can make or break your product. This stage of your production is very important because it will help make your CD stand out in the crowd.

Mastering includes:
Equalization and harmonic balancing for consistant sound throughout your
   entire project.
Adjusting dynamics, peak and rms (avarage) volume of your songs for
   consistency and loudness.
Checking channel phase and polarity for mono compatability.
CD layout with proper sequence, song spaces, fades and crossfades.
High quality sample and bit rate conversion with dither to
   standard Red Book CD.
High quality final master CD burning with PQ codes and error checks.

All this results in a finshed product that has depth, punch, consistency, and is enjoyable to listen to time and again!

Weak, thin, two deminsional, muddy, and boring are all words that have been used to describe CD's that haven't been mastered. We can help provide a cutting edge sound that can stand up with the rest!
If you read on the internet or books, you may read about the new phase of mastering where every thing gets overly compressed and crushed to be as loud as everything else or louder. We are not part of that phase (unless thats what you are going for). We can bring your CD up to a good, clear, and consistent loudness without the artifacts of over compression. Many things affect the overall percived loudness of your music, and skilled ears are the main tools to achiveing a great sound!
