Who we are: The Sound Barn started as a small studio meant for personal owner John Harrell, with the purpose of writing songs, and learning more about recording. But John has had studio experince in the past, including engineering and producing with nashville bluegrass artist Little Creek, in which he also played banjo for many years. He has worked with many groups to help define their sound, and also been involved with multimedia, video productions, and post production/mastering. More recently, The Sound Barn has been going under renovations, and upgrading to make our productions better and easier. We have great equipment, and have spent many years learning about the tools of audio production. We also have been bringing in outside producers the work in specific genres of music to help artist get outside perspective if desired. We have a great resource to studio musicians that are professinaly trained to help fill in when needed. But our primary purpose is to help smaller artists and groups make great recordings without selling all their gear! We can provide a relaxed atmosphere, and great recordings much cheaper than most any other studio in the east. Some have even compared our recordings to "professional" quality. While we don't claim to have all the greatest gear in the world, we do claim to be dedicated to achiveing the sound our clients desire, and deserve.
